Founded in 1995 by a group of Montanans who came into contact with Tibetan refugees and were touched by their plight, this year marks TCEF’s 25th Anniversary. Over these years, the foundation has offered around $2 million in program spendings.
The Tibetan Children’s Education Foundation (TCEF) is dedicated to the preservation of Tibetan culture by educating and assisting Tibetans, raising awareness of Tibetan culture, and by empowering Tibetans to manifest these goals. To fulfill this mission TCEF undertake tours with Tibetan cultural ambassadors to educate and raise awareness of Tibetan art and culture in this country.
The primary focus is to help with the education of Tibetan refugee children through various educational projects and a very successful sponsorship program. Education projects include building education infrastructure, training teachers and providing education technologies in Tibetan classrooms. Finally, TCEF works to serve the Tibetan people through direct health and humanitarian services and with an Elders’ sponsorship program and by humanitarian and health services.
