Native American Development Corporation and Billings Urban Indian Health and Wellness Center to Host Healing Walk in Downtown Billings

You are invited to join a walk through downtown Billings to remember, support, and honor Boarding School survivors and the more than 6,000 bodies recovered from Indigenous residential boarding schools.

Drumming, smudging ceremonies, and speeches (from survivors, from therapists on healing and generational trauma), and a resource fair with local service providers will take place as Indigenous peoples and allies join together in remembrance.

Participants are encouraged to wear orange. Masks required.

  • 9:00am – Prayer & Welcome
  • 9:30am – Begin walk
  • 10:00am – Speeches & Presentations
  • 11:45am – Closing Prayer
  • Clean-up

Starting Location: Skypoint, Downtown Billings, MT

WHY: To walk together in healing while remembering, supporting, and honoring Boarding School survivors and the more than 6,000 bodies recovered from former Indigenous residential boarding schools. The goals of this event are:
