Special Guest Event with Sufi Master Hafizullah

General admission is $75; seniors $45.

Barjon’s Books and Billings First Congregational Church have partnered together to host Sufi Master Hafizullah Chishti for two events at Billings First Congregational Church on 310 N. 27th St.

“Spirituality” is often regarded as something apart from life. In reality, it’s only the spiritually-awakened who can move in the dance of fluid aliveness, fearlessness, and deep integrity that is a fully-lived human life.

A grounded and integrated spiritual awareness embraces the Earth and the Heavens equally. This mode-of-knowing brings life into alignment with Divine Purpose in a deeply-embodied way, which then expresses as “right action” in the world. The Divine is not apart from us, but is us as our own deep substance, and it’s not just the prophets who can carry it in the world.

Drawing upon practices from the Sufi and other traditions, we will inquire experientially into the living nature of this alignment, and bringing compassion into the ways we may unconsciously work against it to create struggle and fragmentation in our lives. You will learn practical techniques and perspectives that can assist you in cultivating a deep intuition, a healing presence, and a deepening commitment to personal and planetary evolution.

Zikr: The Sufi Practice of Divine Presence with Sufi Master Hafizullah Chishti

7:00 pm – 9:00 pm
Included in the all day workshop registration, and is also open to the general public for a suggested donation of $5–$15, or as able.

In this second event, Hafizullah will offer an evening of “Zikr: the Sufi Practice of Divine Presence,” embodying heart-focused chant, breath, and attunement.

Your Presenter:

My name is Hafizullah, given me by my spiritual teacher 40 years ago. I have walked, stumbled, crawled, and danced “the Way of the Sufi” for the whole of my adult life. In the process, I somehow became a Sufi healer, lineage-holder, and senior teacher, and received the Sufi equivalent of “dharma transmission” in 2001. I believe it is time to jailbreak the ancient teachings from the shackles of patriarchy and secrecy, and I have a special interest in the interface between psychology and spirituality. Though spiritually-mentored by the Sufis, I have little interest in distinctions of religion and path, theism and atheism and I keep my teaching “real,” practical, and free of dogma. My passion is sharing in sacred space and spiritual practice with those who are awakening. Please join us if this calls to you.

This event is hosted at Billings First Congregational Church.
